Roma brings more than 30 years executive experience to the Board as well as involvement in several not-for-profits organisations in our community at board and committee level.

Her wide range of skills and expertise arise from her years of international and local business experience, largely focused on senior level strategy development and execution. She has managed complex changes in large organisations, including IBM and Kellogg, that involved re-engineering and technology implementation.

Roma has held a wide variety of executive positions in the community, including the JCA, former Vice President of the NSWJBD and the Sydney Jewish Museum.

Roma is also an executive director of a number of companies.

Norbert Schweizer OAM

Member of the Board since 2013

Norbert is a partner with Schweizer Kobras Lawyers and Notaries. He is chairman of the Schizophrenia Research Institute.

Norbert has held the roles of chairman of the Silver Committee of the Royal NSW Institute for Deaf and Blind Children and president of Emanuel Synagogue, Woollahra. Norbert is also a non-executive director of several other companies and community organisations.

Lyle Hammerschlag

Lyle brings many years’ experience in property development, asset management and investment to the Board. Lyle built his career practising with Deloitte, Stockland, Charter Hall and the Centennial Property Group as well as in private property syndicates.

Michaela Lewis

Michaela was invited to join the Board in 2022 after having been an Observer. She is a Chartered Accountant with many years of finance, tax & business advisory experience working in professional services and industry finance functions. Michaela currently leads the global financial operations & tax divisions of Mr Yum, one of Australia’s fastest growing startups. 

Igor Merkin

Appointed to the Board in 2018. Igor Merkin is a Chartered Accountant, with significant experience in the retirement industry. Currently he is the Chief Financial Officer of Camp Australia.

Gavin Shapiro

Gavin is a partner with Hones Lawyers. He brings many years’ experience in law, focusing on planning and property law, and administrative law. Prior to taking partnership at Hones Lawyers, Gavin worked at Henry Davis York, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Deacons.

Tami Sokol

Tami was invited to join the board in October 2019 and brings with her extensive legal and regulatory expertise. Tami built her career practising law at King and Wood Mallesons, the Public Interest Advocacy Centre and is currently working in the public sector managing a broad ranging practice in Consumer Law. 

Nir Golan

Nir is a seasoned tech entrepreneur with a proven track record in building and scaling cross-functional teams to success. He spent over 10 years at Ernst & Young advising corporate boards and the C-suite before transitioning to the private sector with the launch of his first venture in 2011. Nir’s background includes a deep understanding of organizational strategy across all aspects of finance, accounting, legal, HR, and operations.

Nir holds advanced degrees in Finance, Marketing, and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and has been granted multiple patents for his innovations. Nir and his family have recently moved to Sydney from New York, and are actively involved in several not-for-profit organisations and charities within the community.

In his spare time, Nir can be found experimenting in the kitchen, curled up with a good book, or fishing with his kids.
